WordPress Design

Design WordPress so marketing can change it without breaking the layout.

UX, visual system and CMS-friendly templates for WordPress sites that have to stay responsive, on-brand and editable after launch.

Design that survives the CMS

A finished mockup is not a WordPress design until the editor is specified.

WordPress website design fails when visual decisions ignore how pages are assembled in the admin. The work here covers information architecture, hierarchy, responsive behaviour and a component set that maps to blocks. Marketing should be able to publish a campaign page without inventing a new layout or waiting for a designer to rescue spacing.

Typical constraints

Pretty files still fail if the CMS cannot hold them.

  • The current WordPress theme cannot express the offer or the visual quality the brand needs.
  • Desktop compositions collapse on smaller screens because breakpoints were never designed.
  • Editors inherit a design they cannot update without breaking type, spacing or hierarchy.
  • Campaign pages are designed as one-offs, so the system cannot absorb the next launch.
  • Visual quality and CMS ownership were treated as separate projects.
  • Components exist in Figma but have no rules for long copy, empty states or mixed media.

What you receive

A design system that WordPress can actually implement.

The output is a set of templates and rules, not a single hero frame. Each artefact is written so development can map it to blocks.

  1. 01

    Offer and information architecture

Page types, journeys and message hierarchy decided before visual polish is treated as finished.

  2. 02

    Visual system for WordPress

Type, colour, spacing and component rules that hold across templates, not only on the home page.

  3. 03

    Template and block map

Each designed section is assigned to a reusable WordPress pattern with editor constraints named.

  4. 04

    Responsive and content states

Breakpoints, long copy, short copy and media-missing states are designed, not left to the developer.

  5. 05

    Marketing ownership rules

A written list of what editors can change, what stays locked, and how a new campaign page is assembled.

How WordPress design is made

Structure first. Then the surface the CMS can keep.

Design is treated as a set of templates and states. Aesthetic decisions are tested against editor use, not only against a presentation deck.

  1. 01

    Offer and IA

What the site must explain, which pages carry demand, and how a visitor reaches the next conversation.

  2. 02

    Visual system

Type, colour, spacing and component language defined so templates stay consistent under real content.

  3. 03

    Template mapping

Screens are translated into WordPress page types and reusable sections before build estimates lock.

  4. 04

    Responsive states

Breakpoints and awkward content lengths are designed as part of the system, not as a later fix.

  5. 05

    Editor-safe components

Controls are limited so marketing can swap content without inventing a new composition every time.

  6. 06

    Design QA on templates

Live or staged templates are checked against the system, including campaign and interior pages.

When this is the right entry

This is design work for teams who will live in WordPress.

  • A company replacing a dated WordPress look while keeping marketing in control of publishing.
  • A brand with a new identity that still has to land in real templates, not only in a PDF.
  • A marketing team that needs campaign-ready sections without a designer on every ticket.
  • A site whose visual quality drops the moment content is longer than the original mockup.
  • A WordPress property that must feel consistent across services, industries and resource pages.

What we judge

The design holds after the first editor logs in.

  • Clearer commercial hierarchy

Visitors can find the offer, proof and next step without hunting through decorative layouts.

  • CMS-safe visual quality

Spacing, type and components survive real copy lengths because the system was designed for them.

  • Marketing can assemble pages

New sections are built from named blocks instead of one-off compositions that expire after launch.

Questions

Buying questions, answered directly.

  • It shares IA and visual craft, but the brief includes WordPress templates, blocks and editor ownership. The design is finished when marketing can assemble pages, not when the Figma file looks complete.

Next move

If WordPress cannot hold the brand, the brief is incomplete.

Share the current site, who publishes, and what a campaign page has to look like. We will say whether design, a rebuild or a narrower template pass is useful.
